Yesterday I continued stepping. I was still dirty from the day before and it felt like I was taking one step forward and two steps back. When I looked down to check my step, I saw shiny steel steps opposing my steps!

How did this happen, I wondered. I felt the uncomfortable stares and glares of those going with the flow. Going up the down escalator was not normal nor popular. Going against the flow required more effort just to avoid being sucked down.

I quickened my step against the motorized steps. I moved upward in spite of the escalator’s insistence. It would have been easier to turn around, relax, and go with the flow. I almost gave in, but remembered these words:

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

I followed Him up the down escalator yesterday. I bumped into some, stepped on others, and another almost threw me off, but I kept stepping against the flow. What a test it was!

He did not force me to follow His steps but I wanted to experience His perfect will. Conforming would have been easy, but the transformation was out of this world! It’s good exercise, too!

  1. I stopped by today because I had a few minutes and hadn’t seen anything new from you in awhile. As I scrolled though your posted I noted I had liked all until I came to this one. I had never seen this one. Sometimes I get busy and miss some. Guess I was supposed to see it today!
Is everything okay? Have writers block or something? I haven’t been writing either…not b/c I don’t want to but b/c the past 2 months have been very busy with packing to move and selling my moms house…in a big time of transition. Hope to get settled down for a season of prayer…we have signed a 6 mo lease for an apartment while we wait to see how my aunt does.
Hope to hear from you again…I enjoy your writing.
Prayers for you and your family!

    1. Thank you Jackie! I pray for God to use you in special ways! I can only imagine how busy you are with movers, real estate people, and all the details. May God give you strength and wisdom!
I write almost every day but only posted to this blog for a couple months this summer. I, too, need to settle into a season of prayer.
Thanks for your kind words of encouragement. Do you have ideas on what I could write that might help others?
